International Tertiary Admission Rank

For One World College Diploma Graduates

Shortly after they complete a two-year baccalaureate diploma programme, One World students can have calculated for them an international tertiary admission rank (ITAR) based on established practice in Australasia. We combine tariff point totals into an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) equivalent in order to provide the basis for our University Programme Admission Rank System. Like the ATAR, our ITAR is a score out of 100. Subject grades are combined to determine each student's score.

Although most states outside Australia don't use a ranking system, a notional equivalent can be worked out for their students by using conversion tables and calculators, along with the most internationally recognized qualifications. A sample calculation using our method is now available below:

Maximum three A2s, 56 points per subject; maximum five advanced subjects, which can achieve bonus points for internally achieved standards, in addition to externally graded exams; only the authorized programme adding up to the best total for the candidate may be used in the calculation.

A high ITAR is like a golden ticket for getting into university programmes, at least for those not requiring interviews. Since our college programmes have tight requirements about which subjects our students take during college, chances for interview invitations are also thereby increased. In the future, we believe, ITARs will rule.

Early in the admission process, Australian universities publish ATAR course scores. These can be generally interpreted as indicating the grades required for guaranteed admission. Final requirements may be lowered if there are spare places before clearing, particularly if the initial cut-off estimate was on the high side. You can also effectively increase your likelihood of admission if a university makes bonus points available to you.

Estimated ITAR cut-off scores for top-ranked higher education institutions around the world can be shown in a table we make available to the students using our college counselling service.

  1. Readers should understand that, unlike One World Education Centre, Tutero is a for-profit business, returning profits to shareholders rather than using them to expand services to underprivileged communities, and thus expands inequality in our world.
