Studies

Organization of studies

The One World school system we use consists of six years of primary, three years of lower secondary, and three years of upper secondary education. The last three of these academic years comprise those designed for One World High School, an institution likely to remain private, since it practises selective admission and categorically serves qualified students only; but the first nine could be taught in a separate school that may well be publicly funded, since our charter states that we will serve a comprehensive basic school population on a budget equivalent to those in use in American state schools (which scalable budgeting principle applies to One World High, as well, unlike America's leading private schools, which achieve excellence only by inequitable resourcing).

Pupils shall be admitted to Primary 1 at the beginning of the school year in September of the calendar year in which the child reaches six years of age.

Level                                                        Classes                 Age
Comprehensive
Kindergarten                                                                           5-6
Primary                                                        1-6                      6-12
Lower secondary level                                7-9                     12-15
High school                                                10-12                  15-18

Most of the time in these years is to be devoted to the students' acquisition of a common core of knowledge, skills, and culture, which prioritizes English language & literature until the study of Singapore Oxbridge advanced placement level subjects has begun, when mathematics & sciences move to the fore.

We hope to provide internships for teaching practice when we have opened to a larger extent.
